Take care when choosing your group and booking the dates for your expedition as you must ensure that you will be available for the entire length of the trip. Requests for permission to join late or leave early will not be approved except in extremely rare and unforeseen circumstances (e.g.a funeral but not a family wedding or birthday celebration). DofE requirements mean there is very little leeway for timing change for the assessed expedition.
At Gold level you as a group are expected to plan your own route using maps available in OED, referring to OED staff for ideas about the general area and possible camping areas in good time to make all arrangements.
After your whole group have completed the sign up form a payment request will be put on school gateway. This must be paid no later than two weeks before the event.
Please note: You will not proceed onto your assessment unless you are deemed safe to do so by the OED Staff as evidenced by your practice expedition(s).

Important: At least 7 weeks before your assessed expedition you must submit your completed Green notification form to OED so that it can be sent on to DofE for approval and issue of your expedition notification number.
